Fabulous Room Friday 08.07.09

The home of my dear friend, the extraordinarily talented Sally Wheat is featured on the cover of this month's Houston House and Home Magazine. I couldn't be happier for her because she truly is as sweet as she is talented. She also has a very fresh point of view which I find completely inspiring.

My other friend, Joni Webb of Cote de Texas was asked to write the article for the magazine, so it is doubly exciting to know that two of my friends were involved in such a wonderful project. You may remember Sally's house from when Joni first "stalked" it last year. Anyway, take a moment to enjoy the pictures of Sally's family room / downstairs living area here, then hop on over to Cote de Texas to see Joni's tour of the rest of Sally's gorgeous home. In the famous words of Rachel Zoe, "I DIE!!".

Surely Sally can't be happy in this home...? Fortunately, I am an exceptionally giving person and would be happy (for kharma's sake, of course) to live here for her. I know... I'm just THAT nice.

LOVE it! And that collection of plates in the kitchen is spot on! Sigh. :)

Love it, what a great space! I love the restrained palette, the mix of the old and new, the industrial and the refined and the subtle layers of accessories and art. Look as though I may have to make a trip out to Houston, I have seen so many beautiful spaces out of there over the past year. Well done!

Love your blog! Love, love, love this house :-)
Do you know where the black and white flower prints in the dining area are from? Thanks!

I am also wondering about the black and white flower prints..anyone????

For those who asked about the black and white prints, this is from Sally:

I got the paintings at Frame Tek (in Houston). The owner, Chris Lesiker (sp?) painted them and probably has more there at the shop that are the same or similar. He's located off Washington.
